The drop-ins are follow up forum sessions to create, <\/b>complete, correct or drop off your Discovery questionnaire <\/b>requested from Piedmont<\/b>. The questionnaire was previously provided at the Forum 2\/5\/26 meeting and in the Forum announcement email. Many did not complete their questionnaire or had taken them home for completion. New copies of the questionnaire will be provided at the session drop-ins. The questionnaire only pertains to those why are a part of the lawsuit as plaintiffs. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I am including the content of the previous Forum announcement email for information and review of what we hope you can include with your questionnaire. <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

UH Retiree Lawsuit member:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Interrogatory and Discovery Phase of our lawsuit allows us the request documents and communications from UHCS and Piedmont related the retiree medical supplement benefit which we have done. But it also means they can request the same from us and they have.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

1st:\u00a0<\/b>We are duty bound to pass the request on to you as it was submitted. It is attached.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It is written in “legalease” and will seem overwhelming to some of you.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2nd:<\/b>\u00a0We only have 2 weeks to get a response back from all 238 of us to submit them by the deadline. If each person does not make a “good faith effort” to submit a response, Piedmont could petition the judge to have you removed from the case.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3rd:<\/b> THIS MEETING HAS ALREADY OCCURRED.<\/strong> The Benefits Task Force has scheduled a meeting for Thursday, February 5th at 2pm at Pineview Baptist Church, 119 Pleasant Home Rd, Augusta, GA 30907. Our lawyer, Mr. Long, will be there to help explain and answer questions.<\/p>\n

4th:<\/b>\u00a0We are putting together a form to streamline and help you complete the responses and will have it there for you to use.<\/p>\n

5th:<\/b>\u00a0If you have any of the the following Items, bring them with you. If you have the ability to copy them do and bring the copies. If you don’t, bring the originals.<\/p>\n

a. You current medical insurance card (s)<\/p>\n

b. Any letters from Piedmont to you talking about the retiree medical plan.<\/p>\n

c. Any letters from Capital Head (now Acrisure), Russell Head, Carla James about the \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0conference calls back in 2019 about switching from UHC to Aetna Medicare \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Advantage.<\/p>\n

d. Any sheets you had from Carla James where she wrote the word “free” on how \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0much you would pay for your retiree Medicare Supplement.<\/p>\n

e. Any UH Retiree Benefit Rate Sheets for any years which had in the bottom left \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0corner a box that said “Retirees of UH with 30 or more years of continuous service \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0at retirement incur no cost for this benefit.”<\/p>\n

f.\u00a0 Any of the yearly University Hospital Retiree Benefits Summary booklets we were\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 given each year.<\/p>\n

g. Any letters from Aetna Medicare Advantage denying coverage\/approval or requiring \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0you to do something before they would approve a service.<\/p>\n

6th:<\/b>\u00a0The parking at Pineview is more limited than in the past so anyone you can car pool to come with will help.<\/p>\n
