What about a Dental Plan group rate?

A retiree asked me a great question this week that I had not thought about. To recap, at the Piedmont Dec. 1 meeting they announced they would offer to pay 50% of the Medicare supplement premium for 30+ retirees in 2024. 2024 would be the last year for any financial support to retirees for health care. All eligible service pre 65 retires and existing benefit supplement receiving retirees can then receive a group rate sponsorship for Medicare supplement plans only by Piedmont at their own individual cost after 2024. The question I was asked was why not a continued sponsorship for a group rate for dental (perhaps vision) coverage as a UH Retiree group. This was an excellent question and one that should be posed to Head Capital. I also feel that retiree group sponsorship should be removed from Piedmont if possible and transferred to the UHRAA board or Head Capital. Any way that does not rely on Piedmont support and involvement. I apologize if I have any of these facts incorrect.
