One suggestion is that a small committee be formed from the retiree group. I will certainly help. If possible, this committee should attempt to call a meeting of retirees on this issue (on-site or perhaps teleconference/zoom and finalize any feedback obtained from the group on this issue. Our thoughts/justification/facts/impact/opinions should be drafted into a well presented document that should be signed by all retirees who wish to do so. This will be difficult due to the size of the group but I think it will give weight to our partition to this issue. Even non-retirees like those still employed at Piedmont that will loose the benefit should be invited to sign the document however accomplished. The scope could reach others associated with UHCS over time. Copies of this document should go to Corporate Communications, the local Piedmont Augusta board, Austin Rhodes, newspaper, all local television stations and especially the channel 12 I-Team and perhaps a law firm if it comes to that. Perhaps other venues as we see fit. A large and loud hammer must drop (us) in order to enlighten others to make our plight known and our dissatisfaction with the recent decision. Other potential facts and information are being attempted to be obtained.
