Dear Fellow University Hospital Retiree:
As a retiree of University Hospital, you should have received the 9/16/22 letter from University Hospital and Piedmont informing us that our retiree medical benefits would no longer be provided after the coming year effective 12/31/2023.
It was disappointing to learn that during negotiations between University Hospital and Piedmont that our promised retirement medical benefits for years of loyal, continuous service were not protected. Concerned retirees joined together to create the UH Benefits Task force to coordinate and initiate efforts to have our hard-earned medical benefits restored. We learned today that University Hospital/Piedmont has scheduled two sessions to discuss new information with retirees about this matter. The sessions are scheduled for: Tuesday, 11/ 29/22 at 11:45am and Monday, 12/5/22 at 1pm in the Levi Hill Auditorium at Piedmont Augusta.
